FLT Team Leader - Nights - Northampton

Location:  Fortec, Units 2-3, Watling Park, Station Rd, Watford, Northampton NN6 7XY

Working hours:  Monday to Friday 9pm-5.30am

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced FLT Team Leader to join our friendly night operations team. 

 

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Take control of freight movement within the section

  • Ensure the next day freight is handled accordingly

  • Report any issues to the Supervisor

  • Ensuring quality of load and transhipment of freight through the hub to its destination whether to place into a bay location or to place on to a waiting vehicle or standing trailer

  • Performing routine pre inspections to ensure equipment is suitable for use

  • Ensuring the reporting of noncompliance/accidents/near misses/abuse/intimidation etc

  • To provide information and to communicate with customer vehicle drivers, when the need arises

  • Ensure reports have been compiled for damaged product/poorly presented vehicle/site damage and equipment damage etc

  • Manage your team

  • Make an effective contribution to the business

  • Contribute to the provision of customer service

  • Maintain Health and Safety in Operations

  • Operate equipment to perform work requirements.

 

What we need from you

  • FLT Licence (essential)

  • Previous experience in managing a small team

  • Hazard awareness and perception

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Team player with a positive attitude

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically

  • Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
