At the Pall-Ex Group Annual Awards Evening, we are proud to honour those across the network who have played an integral role in shaping Pall-Ex Group into the successful logistics operation it is today.
This year, we recognised Adam Hopcroft, Managing Director of Premier Palletised Limited, who has been an integral part of the Pall-Ex network since 2001.
Despite operating in a challenging area of London, Premier Palletised Limited, led by Adam, consistently provide high service levels to customers, regularly hitting KPIs and proving to be a key part of the successful London Project.
We spoke to Adam following his award win to find out what the recognition means.

When did you begin Premier Palletised Limited and how has it evolved since the beginning?
I started Premier Palletised Limited on the 5th July 1993 from my bedroom in a council flat in Stonebridge, NW London. At the time, I had been a DJ for 12 years so it was quite a different direction. We started with a same-day service using one Transit van that I used to transfer DJ equipment from site to site. We quickly outgrew my bedroom and moved…to the front room.
How long have you been part of the Pall-Ex Group network?
We joined Pall-Ex in 2001 and become a Group depot in 2022.
What have been some of your career highlights since founding PPL?
Of course, joining Pall-Ex goes without saying! Another highlight was when we moved in to our third premises in Wembley in 2007. It was opened by Hilary Devey and other members of the Pall-Ex Board. Also, Deborah Jenkins joining me in 2004 was a huge turning point in the business and of course, passing my Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma at 57.
What does it mean to you to win the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Pall-Ex Group Annual Awards evening?
We are in the sort of industry that is very much judged on its failures, so it is a real humbling experience to get this award.
Were you surprised about winning the award?
I must admit, it was totally unexpected but a great surprise. It is so nice to think your hard work is recognised.
Did you enjoy the awards evening?
I always enjoy the awards evening, from the entertainment to the hard work put in to decorate the room. Being from the entertainment industry in a previous life allows me to really appreciate the effort that goes in to these events.
I think it’s an absolute necessity to meet your peers and colleagues, especially in today’s world of digital communication. There is nothing like building a good working relationship with depots when you meet them in a social setting.
What have PPL got planned for the future?
We are looking forward to continuing the hard work in keeping Pall-Ex Group’s London service the best in market, whilst addressing the ever-changing challenges within the sector.
