Pall-Ex Group has been recognised in this year’s Motor Transport Awards after being shortlisted in two categories. The Leicestershire-based firm is in the running to win the crown for Team of the Year as well as the prestigious Training Award.
The Motor Transport Awards have run for 38 years and set the benchmark for excellence among UK road transport fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers and innovators.
Training Award Shortlist
The logistics sector is often affected by staff shortages and promoting itself to the younger generations. Pall-Ex focuses on nurturing, rewarding, and retaining good people in a bid to continue to grow the business. Judges acknowledged how Pall-Ex has reworked its training and development framework with a firm focus on employee well-being, resulting in financial growth and increased market share.
Team of the Year Award Shortlist
The Motor Transport judging panel has also recognised Pall-Ex personnel, with the shortlist for its Team of the Year Award. This coveted accolade recognises how Pall-Ex used its Commercial Excellence Team to support its UK-wide membership of logistics companies with every aspect of selling their services.
A sector-first, the programme resulted in over 150,000 pallets being added into the network, and continues to be successful.
Commenting on the shortlists, Pall-Ex Group CEO, Kevin Buchanan said: “We are extremely proud to be the only pallet network shortlisted in two categories for the 2024 Motor Transport Awards. In what has been challenging times with many businesses struggling, our team has worked exceptionally hard to grow the network and maintain our sector presence. We have a people-first approach so to be recognised for our training programme and building a great team from such a respected Awards body is fantastic.”
