Our people are the heart of our operation, and our Warehouse Operatives are always working hard behind the scenes to keep the pallets moving through our sites across the UK. We spoke to Izzy Booth to find out more about her role and what she enjoys most about working at Pall-Ex Logistics.
1. What is your role at Pall-Ex Logistics and what are your key responsibilities?
I am a Warehouse Operative and Forklift Driver at Pall-Ex Logistics, where my responsibilities include unloading and reloading the vehicles as they come in and checking they are secure before they go out again.
2. How did you get into the logistics industry?
I started my career in driving and have now moved into a warehouse role.
3. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced since joining the team?
Getting used to using the Aisle Master in the warehouse was difficult because of the small spaces it is used in, but it was very rewarding once I got the hang of it.
4. What sets Pall-Ex Logistics apart from other logistics companies?
We all work as one and the team spirit makes it a really welcoming place to come to work.
5. What does a great day at work look like for you?
Having a managed, controlled and safe environment for employees to work in is the most important thing to me, so it’s nice to work at a place where we all look out for each other and offer help when it is needed.
6. What has been your most memorable moment at Pall-Ex Logistics so far?
Completing my shunting course has helped to increase operational efficiency and meant I have been able to learn another valuable skill to benefit me in my role.
7. What is the most unusual freight you have seen transported?
An aeroplane wing!
