Leading UK pallet network Pall-Ex has confirmed a five-year extension of its exclusive contract with technology specialist Optimize.
The new seven-figure deal will see Pall-Ex continue to benefit from the full suite of Optimize’s Artificial Intelligence-driven, powerful algorithms that have a proven track record in reducing costs, cutting emissions and ultimately increasing productivity.
Pall-Ex and Optimize celebrated the extension of their partnership at Pall-Ex’s annual Future of Excellence awards, held this year on 1st February at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham. Countdown star and Optimize brand ambassador Rachel Riley joined senior members of both teams to mark the occasion.
The original agreement between the two brands was first signed in 2023 and was centred on the rollout of NexusETA, the network’s innovative two-hour delivery window for customers. NexusETA enhances Pall-Ex’s best-in-class tracking capabilities by utilising AI solutions developed by Optimize to generate accurate delivery windows for customers, ultimately achieving a more streamlined and efficient service for customers and goods recipients.
NexusETA has achieved significant buy-in amongst key stakeholders across Pall-Ex’s UK networks, with over 90% of drivers throughout the network now routinely using it as part of their daily routine.
The new agreement, which continues to give Pall-Ex exclusive access to Optimize’s solutions within the pallet network space, will see a host of data-driven enhancements rolled out across Pall-Ex’s entire operations. These are set to include significant fuel savings and carbon reduction, alongside further efficiency gains via intuitive route optimisation.
Dave Dunhill, Chief Technology Officer at Pall-Ex, said: “We are delighted to confirm a new five-year agreement with Optimize, giving us continued access to their industry-leading range of AI-powered algorithms. In the first two years of our association, we have applied these algorithms to our tracking functionalities, ultimately increasing customer satisfaction with the rollout of our two-hour delivery window – an innovation that led to a 30% drop in calls from customers looking to track the status of their delivery.
“With a new agreement in place, we are able to build a clear technological roadmap with Optimize and look to the next phase of updates which will further enhance our service offering.”
Colin Ferguson, CEO at Optimize added: “The combination of our technical expertise and Pall-Ex’s first-class logistics offering has culminated in a really powerful partnership between our two brands. It has been great to see the benefits our algorithms have delivered for Pall-Ex so far, and we are looking forward to further building on these in the next phase of our relationship.”
