Transport Planner - Launceston

Location:  Warehouse Pennygillam Way, Pennygillam Industrial Estate, Launceston PL15 7ED

Working hours:  Monday to Friday – 5am-3pm

 

Following continuing growth in our transport operations we are looking to expand our Launceston, Cornwall based team.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner the key focus of this role will be working with customers to create full and part load work.

 

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Create efficient and compliant daily delivery plan to maximise the vehicle productivity of our Pall-Ex multi drop collection and delivery fleet

  • Report daily the PPV across the full delivery operation

  • Promote changes in operations to promote further efficiency or cost saving opportunities

  • Liaise with the Collections (Input Customers) and Trunking Co-Ordinator to ensure that the delivery plan fully supports the customer collection plan each day

  • Book – In deliver Customers where a booking – in service has been requested

 

What we need from you

  • A UK or European transport planning background with an eye for developing business

  • Knowledge of transport-related legal requirements and regulations

  • Sound knowledge of the geography of Devon and Cornwall to aid efficient vehicle planning

  • Methodical approach to work with strong attention to detail

  • Highly organised and excellent time management

  • Strong customer care skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
